Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 28, 2026
1. Introduction
Lessyns LLC ("Lessyns," "we," "us," or "our") built this product for educators, and trust is part of the product itself. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our website, our web application, and our iOS application (together, the "Service"), how we use and share that information, and the choices available to you.
Lessyns is used in two ways: directly by individual educators, and through a school or district account set up by a district or school administrator. Where the two models raise different privacy questions, this policy addresses them separately, particularly in Section 5.
We may update this Privacy Policy as Lessyns develops. If we make a material change, we will provide notice before the change takes effect, such as an in-app notice or an email to the address on your account.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide to us
- Account details: your name, email address, school or district affiliation, and role, such as teacher or leader, provided when you register.
- Payment details: if you subscribe directly as an individual educator, payment information is collected and processed by our payment processor. Lessyns does not store full card numbers.
- Wellness and check-in content: self-reported mood, stress, and energy levels, and any notes you choose to add to a check-in.
- Script and communication content: the templates you view, edit, or copy through the script engine, and any custom language you write.
- Rainy Day Mailbox content, where available to your district: messages you write to colleagues, and whether you choose to send them attributed or anonymously.
- Communications with us: messages you send to support, survey responses, and feedback.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Usage information: the features you open, resets you complete, streak activity, and how you move through the Service.
- Device and log information: device type, operating system and version, app version, general access times, and diagnostic or crash data.
- Push notification tokens, if you enable notifications.
- Approximate location, such as general region inferred from IP address, used for purposes like time zone and language defaults.
2.3 Information from other sources
- If you are added to a district or school account, your name and email address are provided to us by your district or school administrator, typically through a CSV roster upload or an individual invite.
- If you subscribe through a third-party platform, such as the Apple App Store, we receive limited transaction confirmation from that platform.
- If you choose to log in using a third-party account, we receive the basic profile information that service shares with us based on your settings there.
2.4 Information we do not seek to collect
Lessyns is a tool for adult educators and school leaders. It is not designed to collect information about students, and educators should not enter a student's name or other identifying details into a check-in, script, or Rainy Day Mailbox message. See Section 11 for more on student data.
3. How We Use Information
- To provide the Service, including your check-ins, resets, scripts, streaks, and, where applicable, your district's console.
- To maintain and improve the Service, including fixing errors and understanding which features are useful to educators.
- To process payment for individual subscriptions and to administer district licenses.
- To send you service-related messages, such as confirmations, account notices, and responses to support requests.
- With your consent or according to your notification settings, to send reminders and other in-app or push notifications aligned to the school day.
- To generate aggregate, de-identified reporting for district administrators as described in Section 5.
- To detect and prevent misuse of the Service and to protect the rights, safety, and property of Lessyns, our users, and others.
- To comply with applicable law.
We do not use your wellness or check-in content to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell that content. See Section 6.
4. How We Share Information
We disclose information about you only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers who perform functions on our behalf, such as hosting, payment processing, customer support tools, and analytics, under contractual confidentiality obligations.
- Your district or school, limited to the aggregate reporting described in Section 5. Individual check-in content, script content, and Rainy Day Mailbox content are not shared with district or school administrators.
- Professional advisors, such as our accountants, auditors, and attorneys, where necessary and subject to confidentiality.
- Where required by law, such as in response to a valid subpoena, court order, or other lawful request.
- Where necessary to investigate or prevent a violation of our agreements, protect against fraud, or protect the safety of our users or the public.
- In connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of some or all of our business, subject to standard confidentiality protections.
- With your direction or consent, such as if you choose to share content using a share feature.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information with third parties for their own advertising purposes.
5. District and School Accounts
The district and school model is not simply seat management. It is built to help school leaders understand patterns across staff needs without compromising the individual privacy that makes the Service trustworthy in the first place.
5.1 What district administrators can do
- Create and manage a district or school account, add users by CSV roster import or invite, assign seats, and remove access.
- View aggregate reporting, such as overall mood, stress, and energy trends, activation rate, weekly active percentage, and feature usage, at the district or school level.
5.2 What district administrators cannot do
- View any individual educator's check-in responses, mood or stress entries, script content, or Rainy Day Mailbox messages.
- Search, filter, or drill down to a specific person's activity within aggregate reports.
- Access aggregate reporting for a group small enough that an individual could reasonably be identified. Lessyns applies a minimum group size before any aggregate figure is shown.
If your district or school administrator removes your account or your license lapses, your access to the Service ends.
6. Analytics
We use analytics tools to understand how the Service is used, such as which features are opened and how often, so we can identify errors and prioritize improvements. We do not use third-party advertising networks within Lessyns, and we do not use your activity in Lessyns to serve you ads on other platforms.
7. Data Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business or legal purposes, such as maintaining financial records or resolving disputes.
9. Your Privacy Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request to know what personal information we have about you, access or receive a copy of it, correct it, or delete it. You can exercise these rights by contacting us at help@lessyns.com.
We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights. If we deny a request, you may appeal by contacting us at the same address. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
